The posts that are up are definitely looking good, everyone. You're all on the right track as far as understanding language acquisition. The thing to keep in mind is how the reading process mirrors that of learning language. While learning language is a natural human process, we know reading is a learned talent. Yet much of learning to read is balanced between nature and nuture -- what talents and skills a child has in linguistic terms combined with the practices of the family: reading aloud, storytelling, and more.
For Friday (yes, remember, you have extra time for the holiday), you need to catch up in your reading in the theory book. For the post:
What do you understand from the reading? What are your thoughts. Also, staya posted: I am hoping to post a podcast by the end of the week to go along with your reading.
Happy Fourth of July!
